I believe that every woman has the right to be treated with respect and dignity at every phase of life. When I saw women, myself included, being treated as mere bystanders in the pregnancy and birth process, I found where my passion should have it's home.
I desire for women to be educated in their body's capabilities and their full range of choices within and outside of the medical model. I support a woman's right to choose her own birth experience and seek to facilitate her wishes.
My own experience with a planned cesarean birth in 2011 and an un-medicated VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean) in 2013 give me a unique perspective on both ends of the birth spectrum.
Simply, I listen to mamas.
